Well, I certainly was engaging on xanga this school year, wasn't I?

It was a very good year and a very bad year all at once, but really, mostly, it was an influential year.  I suppose I won't see the full effects until further in the future, but for now, I'm left with a lot to ponder as I make the drive back to Henderson tomorrow.  It looks like it will be rainy.  A bit of a slower drive is likely.  What I whittled down to 8:35 on my last drive will probably float somewhere above, but still near, nine hours on my return journey.

I read some great books this year (Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, for one), saw some great movies (like The Audition), saw ReneĂ© Fleming perfom a solo recital (incredible), gave my own recital (stressful), decided I really want to sing opera (yikes), further developed some great friendships (thankfully), and learned a lot about myself and the world around me.  Junior year... kind of an odd time, really.

I think one of the keys to life is to know what you want and to know what you need, and then to somehow make sure that those two are the same thing.  That's quite a process in and of itself, but really, it's the road to fulfillment and happiness.  Then, once you know what you're aiming for, it's just a matter of pursuing that dream, that goal, that idea, that love, that relationship, that life -- by any means possible.
